Profile: Carbon Resources provides the most diverse line of activated carbon products. We offer activated carbon and charcoal products. Our Sabre series™ line of activated carbon products consists of a wide range of base adsorbents, each having its own unique properties that can enhance adsorption performance in specific applications. Our “A” series product is very unique to the activated carbon industry. It is a low density, high activity coal with relatively low ash that has low water solubles & very good hardness attributes. With an approximate density of 20-23 pounds per cubic foot, it is about 3/4 the weight of a bituminous coal & therefore on a volume fill basis, much less carbon is needed. It has a very good pore size distribution of macro, meso and micro pores, which lends it to work extremely well in adsorbing heavy molecular weight compounds & color. It also has a very good capacity for lighter weight compounds. Petroleum pitch base beaded activated carbon exhibits practically zero ash, extremely low dusting and greater than 1000 m2/g BET surface area. Our wood base activated carbons are available as steam/acid activated carbon. They have a high surface area in the meso & macro-pore range and work very well in the purification of many food grade products. Some of our wood products are Kosher certified. They can be acid washed & available only in a powder form. The wood base product tends to be soft and therefore has a low density as well as a good macropore & micropore structure. This product is typically used to remove color in a batch process. Our Spartan Series® specialty activated carbon products are surface modified to be extremely effective in various applications. We also provide a line of Guardian Adsorber Series® which are off-the shelf and custom built activated carbon adsorption systems. We provide technical applications support such as isotherm predictions, system design & analysis, on-site & off-site laboratory batch testing.
