Merisol RSA (Pty) Ltd. is a provider of high quality, flexible, phenolic products. We manufacture Phenol, cresols, Xylenols and cresylic acids in various grades. Our Cresylic Acids are used in resins, solvents, antioxidants, functional fluids, cosmetics, disinfectants, agricultural chemicals and chemical intermediates. We specialize in the production of high-quality cresylic acids and pure isomers from naturally occurring sources. We operate two major cresylic acid production facilities.

Phenol
Phenol is used in resins, plywood adhesives, lube oil additives and other industrial applications.

o–Cresol
We offer o-cresol in standard and electronic grades. It is used in resins, particularly epoxy cresol novolacs for microchip encapsulation, and in laminates, herbicides and coumarin production.

m,p–Cresol
We produce several grades of m,p –cresol (75 to 99+%) used in Phenolic Resins, Photoresists, Phosphate Esters, Wire Enamel Solvents, Surfactants and other Chemical Intermediates.

Meta-Cresol
Our high purity Meta-Cresol is utilized in agricultural chemicals, and in specialty resins, pharmaceuticals and pressure-sensitive dyes.

Para-Cresol
Our high-purity Para-Cresol finds use in antioxidants, such as BHT, and in specialty resins, UV blockers for sunscreens & fragrances.

Xylenols
These xylenols are commonly used in the manufacture of antioxidants, pharmaceuticals, disinfectants, wire enamel solvents, phosphate esters and other blended products.

Mixed Xylenols and Ethylphenols
Our mixed isomer products, including concentrates of 3, 5-xylenol and 3, 4-xylenol, find use in wire enamel solvents, phosphate esters and specialty resins.

Alkylphenols
We offer higher-boiling products containing primarily C3 – C4 alkylphenols for use in such applications as adhesive resins, disinfectants and ore flotation agents.

Blended Cresylic Acid Products
Our unique separation capacity allows us to blend selected isomer fractions to meet critical requirements.

Butylated Hydroxytoluene
Our Butylated Hydroxytoluene is an antioxidant used in polymers, elastomers, lubricants, greases and edible oils.
