Our black soap body wash is a natural cleanser for the body, face and hair. It leaves the skin and hair smooth & soft without any chemicals, fragrances/preservatives. It is made from cocoa pods dried under the hot african sun and then roasted in a clay oven. The roasting time of the cocoa pods determines the color of the soap. The roasted pods are mixed with coconut oil to create a nourishing and gentle soap with natural antiseptic properties. Shea butter oil is shea butter fractionated into stearin and olein to create shea oil. Shea butter is a slightly greenish natural fat, extracted from the fruit of the shea tree, by crushing and boiling. It is known for its cosmetic properties, as a moisturizer & emollient, and is a known anti-inflammatory agent. It is also effective at treating fading scars, eczema, burns, rashes, severely dry skin, blemishes, dark spots, skin discoloration, stretch marks and wrinkles. Shea butter provides natural UV sun protection, although the level of protection is extremely variable, ranging from none at all to approximately SPF3, and should not be relied on. Shea oil is found in high end cosmetic & skin care products, and is often used on its own/in lotions, body scrub & hair oil formulations.
